Research, saved signals, and drafts
Discover is where you find what is moving across the internet and turn the strongest signals trends into content for your synfluencer. It monitors over a dozen platforms and surfaces rising conversations with real angles — not just topic labels. Because discovery feeds the same persona layer as the rest of the product, the brief stays connected to the voice and workflow you want to run.
How to access
Click Discover in the left sidebar. Requires an active synfluencer to be selected.
Key features
- Multi-platform scanning — Discovers trends from X, Reddit, TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Hacker News, Pinterest, Bluesky, Threads, GitHub, LinkedIn, StockTwits, the Web, and Polymarket. StockTwits only contributes on ticker/crypto topics. An opt-in Jobs source (hiring signals from public careers boards) is off by default — turn it on per search when you want hiring-trend context.
- Source configuration — Choose which platforms to scan and filter by date range. Default range is the current week. Every source except Jobs is selected by default.
- Trend cards — Each discovered trend shows a title, relevance summary, engagement metrics, and the source platforms where it appeared. A platform content bar shows platform-specific captions and hashtags.
- Content creation from trends — Select one or more trends, choose the exact draft destinations, and generate platform-specific captions and formatting. Every supported platform is available; an unconnected destination is labeled Draft only and cannot schedule or publish until connected. Blog, Newsletter, and Hashtags are separate optional additions and all start off; a bulk choice applies to every selected trend. The Regenerate and Increase Quality dialogs include a Long Post format button (visible when the X Premium toggle is on) to force an ~800-char single X post instead of a thread.
- From your own material — Custom text, X posts, YouTube videos, webpages, documents, and recordings now start in Create → From Source. Discover remains focused on researched signals.
- Draft first, connect later — Connections control delivery, not creation. Build and approve a platform-specific content bank before a client grants account access, then connect that destination when it is ready to schedule or publish.
- Saved discoveries — Save trend runs for later. You can regenerate content from saved discoveries or delete them.
- Comparison mode — When the system detects a VS or comparison topic, it activates comparison mode for side-by-side analysis.
- Best Takes — Shows humor-scored viral quotes from the trending conversation when available.
- Deep Research — Optional toggle that enriches trend analysis with Perplexity-powered deep research before generating content. When enabled, each trend receives additional context and analysis beyond the initial scan.
- RSS tab — A second tab alongside Trends. Add RSS feed URLs for sites you care about (per synfluencer; saved server-side with add/edit/delete), pick a date range (Today / This week / 2 Weeks / Month / Custom), and click Fetch latest news to pull every article published in that range across all your feeds. The articles are run through the same synthesis pipeline as Trends, so results land as trend cards with source URLs back to the originating articles. A separate “Articles fetched (N)” panel lets you multi-select specific articles and pipe them into the same brief flow as Trends, with author / publish date / body excerpt added to the brief context. Past fetches are saved per synfluencer so you can reload a recent run instead of re-fetching. The final customer charge is recorded in Account → Usage.
Selecting N articles and clicking Generate content produces N independent drafts, one per article. Use the intent dropdown above the button to apply a single intent to every selected article (auto, explain, hot take, contrarian, narrative, riff, or promo) — the same intents available on the Trends tab. The Today range pulls articles from the last 24 hours and is the default when you open the tab. The RSS feeds list is collapsible — click the chevron to expand it. Synthesized trend cards are also multi-selectable — pick the trends you want to write about, choose an intent, and click Generate content to queue one content task per selected trend through the same pipeline the Trends tab uses.
Step-by-step
- Click Discover in the sidebar.
- Configure your sources — select which platforms to scan and set the date range.
- Click Discover to start the trend scan.
- Review the trend cards. Each shows why the topic is relevant now and includes engagement data.
- Select trends you want to create content from using the checkboxes.
- Click Create Content, choose draft destinations plus optional Blog, Newsletter, and Hashtags additions, and confirm the generation.
- Generated content moves to your approval queue for review before publishing.
- For a custom topic, X link, YouTube video, webpage, document, or recording, open Create → From Source.
Choosing an intent
When you generate content from a trend, pick the “shape” the post should take. The intent dropdown appears above the trend results list (for batch generate) and inside the Regenerate / Improve dialog on each content card. A short description shows under the dropdown so you know what the selected value does.
- Auto — the default; the system classifies each selected trend independently and picks an intent based on the trend itself.
- Explain — neutral, structural breakdown. Best when the audience needs context.
- Hot take — committed POV. Best when you have a strong opinion.
- Contrarian — push back on the prevailing take. Best when there's a clear consensus to react against.
- Narrative — personal story or analogy. Best when you've lived through something like this.
- Riff — playful, lateral. Best for memes and culturally light trends.
- Promo — frame the synfluencer's product as the natural solution to what the trend raises. The first half engages with the trend; the second half introduces the product as “this is what I built / use” — peer-recommendation tone, no salesy CTAs. Requires a Product URL + Brief on the synfluencer record (set them under Manage synfluencers → Edit); without a brief, Promo silently falls back to Hot take. Long-form surfaces (LinkedIn, blog, threads) get a richer 3-4 sentence product paragraph; X / Instagram / single-post Threads get a one-sentence offhand mention.
When multiple trends are selected and you use Auto, each trend is classified independently. If you pick a specific intent, it applies to every selected trend. Niche authority is optional for every intent — the model only leans on domain expertise when the trend benefits from it.
FAQ
How often should I run discovery?
It depends on your posting frequency. For daily posting, running discovery once or twice a day keeps your content pipeline fresh. For weekly posting, a few runs per week is sufficient.
Can I choose specific topics to watch?
Yes. Use the Watchlist feature to monitor specific topics on a schedule. See the Watchlist section for details.
What is the platform content bar?
The row of platform tabs below each trend card. Click a platform tab to see the caption and hashtags generated specifically for that channel.
Why does my X or Bluesky content come out as a single post instead of a thread?
X, Bluesky, and Threads now default to single posts — punchy, self-contained takes that typically get more reach than threads. The generator only chooses a thread when the topic is genuinely story-shaped (a narrative arc, a step-by-step, or a multi-part topic with three or more distinct beats). You can override the format per-post in the content approval editor if you prefer a thread. If your X account has X Premium, a Long Post option also appears in the Regenerate and Increase Quality dialogs — it targets ~800 characters as a single post (only the first ~280 are shown before “Show more”). Hashtags on these platforms also default to zero (or at most one or two when a tag is a genuine searchable topic) — X's algorithm reads post text semantically and penalises hashtag stacking.
